Participatory Methods to Assess Change in Health and Women’s Lives: An Exploratory Study for the BRAC-ICDDR,B Joint Project in Matlab


Of interest in this exploratory study are methods which draw upon the expertise and participation of rural people in assessing change in health and women's lives, and their potential relevance to the BRAC-ICDDR,B Joint Project in Matlab. Its objectives are twofold:

1. to assess the effectiveness of various participatory methods as a means of collecting baseline information;

2. to identify indigenous indicators of health, wealth and women's status, and to investigate people's perceptions of changes in these indicators over time.
